MORE ABOUT THE ISSUE:
Since World War II, Americans have become increasingly mobile.  We live, work, study, and recreate in far-flung locations, and we depend on motorized transportation to shuttle us in between.  Transportation planners assume that every household has two cars, and each car makes ten short trips per day. With numerous roadways at or near capacity, solutions to reduce travel delays and improve mobility continue to be in the forefront of our agenda.

OUR OBJECTIVES :

• Promote Context Sensitive Design in the development of local and state transportation projects.
• Support Maryland State Highway Administration's Context Sensitive Design initiatives and projects.
• Upgrade local scenic road legislation.
• Strengthen and expand state scenic byways program.
• Hold a training session with local planning and department of public works staff on context sensitive design.
• Assist with local Corridor Management Plans.
