Rapid growth of the telecommunications technology began in 1996. We recognize the importance of wireless technology for society, and support sensible location and design that minmizes visual impact. Well -placed and carefully designed facilities should be built—only if there is a clearly identified need.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
• Encourage governments to consider scenic resources as they propose antennas and towers.
• Propose new designs of structures that will protect the visual landscape.
• Urge deconstruction of obsolete structures.
• Promote co-location of new facilities on existing structures.
• Encourage innovative approahces to locating and designing new facilities.
• Urge that new facilities only be constructed if they serve a clearly identified need.
